The Platinum Chart [Week 302]

Alright, this week there's a lot of changes on the chart. Apart from three new entries by Joss Stone, Take That and Scissor Sisters, Fergie slips deliciously, Gwen Stefani winds it down, Shakira was illegally at the top so she now moved to the bottom, and Christina Aguilera also gets hurt on this free fall festival. Good things also happened though, Sophie Ellis-Bextor catches the top 20, Robbie Williams plays Madonna and moves eleven positions up, Justin Timberlake goes around the top 10, Ruby goes straight to the top 10, followed by Nelly Furtado and Amy Winehouse. On the battle for the top spot, Grace Kelly lost against The Sweet Escape which gave Gwen Stefani her fourth solo number one. On the Bubbling Under Chart, Jessica Simpson manages to spend one more week on the chart, The Pussycat Dolls keep climbing, and Cascada still holds the number one for the ninth week in a row... That's it for this week, enjoy!

The Platinum Chart [Week 301]

Time for another countdown... But first let me just say that we reached the 10000 visitors! Yey! That's a great number! I still remember when I looked there and it said 28 visitors ... Been a long time now... So, just wanted to thank you for all that clicks... Now about the chart... Chris Cornell freefalls, The Pussycat Dolls and The Fray both enter the top 20, Kelis' star shines 6 positions up, Gwen Stefani escapes 8 positions above and Beyoncé listens 6 position on top too. Meanwhile Akon stopped loving the top spot and Mika puts Grace Kelly higher. On the Bubbling Under Chart, Cascada sticks to the top spot for an 8th week and the Scissor Sisters slip a bit...

The Platinum Chart [Week 299]

It's time for this week's chart, the week which 3 spectacular new videos premiered, Avril's Girlfriend, Christina's Candyman and Ciara's Like a Boy...
On The Platinum Chart there's three new entries by Gwen Stefani (it's Akon's third single on the chart!), Kelis and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Pink, Red Hot Chili Peppers, My Chemical Romance and Robbie Williams all dropped some serious positions and are now all stuck together on the bottom of the top 30; Akon is now smacking it out of the top 20, Beyoncé puts her two singles very together as she listens the top 15 and is replaced on the top 10; Fall Out Boy bring an arms race close to the top 10, Mika threatens the top 5 and U2 gone through the window and are now in the sky. On the Bubbling Under Chart everything's pretty the same (again!), altough we have two new entries there. Thus, Cascada is still on the top spot, for the 6th consecutive week!

The Platinum Chart [Week 298]

Another week just got through, so it's time for a new chart. Today seems to be big in news... Apart from a brand new chart, recent news tell that Britney shaved her hair (I've seen the photos, they're pretty real...), MTV's TRL might be cancelled very very soon, and the Spice Girls are up to a reunion... So, off to the charts...
This week new releases by Lady Sovereign, Jessica Simpson and The Pussycat Dolls are new to the chart, the girls from All Saints drop steady, and so does Robbie Williams. Beyoncé get a second top 20 hit, Jamelia bites her way to the top 15, Akon is back on the top 10 and U2 get a window in the skies. On the Bubbling Under Chart, Cascada is still on the lead and everything's pretty the same with the exception of the three new entries... Alright, I'm to partying as we're celebrating Carnival... I'll show you some pictures later on.. hopefully... Have fun!

The Platinum Chart [Week 297]

Another week just passed by, which means time for a new chart. This week we're joined by new efforts by Keane and Beyoncé, and a very special song by British artist Amy Winehouse. Also, Madonna jumps out of the top 20 while Fall Out Boy race up the chart just like brand new artist Mika. Beyoncé is replaceable after all in the top 5 while Gwen Stefani winds it up and Eric Prydz keeps on educating everybody. On the Bubbling Under Chart Cascada touches the top spot for the third week in a row, JoJo says it's not too late to get back on the top and The Pussycat Dolls get a spot on the chart alongside U2 & Green Day and yet again, the Scissor Sisters... The Platinum Chart [Week 296]

And a new week arrives, and so does a new issue of The Platinum Chart. This week we're joined by new efforts by My Chemical Romance, Mika and Fall Out Boy; also, beware of Jamelia, she's climbing inside the top 20 and so does Pink, but nobody knows... Take That and former Take That member, Robbie Williams get out of the top 10 while U2 get a window almost in the top 5. Nelly Furtado's reign finally came to an end (she spent 4 weeks at number one, more than her previous Maneater which spent 3 weeks at number one), and we're all being properly educated by Eric Prydz now... It's almost no moving this week on the Bubbling Under Chart, altough there is 3 new entries... Enjoy and until next week!

The Platinum Chart [Week 293]

It's time for a new issue of The Platinum Chart! A new week has just passed and it's time to chart the music... On this week's issue we're joined by new efforts of Disney's teen star Vanessa Hudgens and Evanescence, the saints keep sliding positions, Eric Prydz climb up properly educated by Pink Floyd, Scissor Sisters' Land of a Thousand Words loses the Top 10 and Take That get patient on the top 5. And I've also decided that the Bubbling Under Chart (the chart where songs that are knocked out of The Platinum Chart struggle to get back to the latter), should be a top 10 instead of a top 5... So, until next week! Enjoy!

The Platinum Chart [Week 292]

Hello there! Today I felt like giving you one of my new year presents. Please welcome the first ever online issue of The Platinum Chart. And what is such thing? The Platinum Chart is my personal music singles chart that reflects the European music singles sales, the European airplay and my personal preferences on the music world. So, every song that charts on The Platinum Chart has to be out for sales on Europe (only Europe not the US), has to have a minimal rotation on music channels, and has to be liked...by me! LoL. I've been doing this for almost 6 years now (first issue was June 8th 2001) and I decided that, now that I have a blog, and that we're starting 2007, I should post it online. Every Saturday you can count on a new issue of The Platinum Chart. This makes today's issue the 292nd. On this week's issue, Nelly Furtado takes over; Evanescence, U2 & Green Day and the Scissor Sisters couldn't handle the new year, and we're joined by new efforts by Eric Prydz and, yet again, U2. Also, we'll take a took at the Bubbling Under Chart where 5 songs struggle to get back in The Platinum Chart. Enjoy!
