Justin Timberlake - "What Goes Around ...Comes Around"

Michael Jackson gave us Thriller, Justin Timberlake brings back the format and gives us What Goes Around ...Comes Around, a music video which is also a short film. Justin's short film for promotion for his third single is actually his first video to have explicit language, and has (obviously) two versions : the first being the short film version (credited as Director's Cut) which has been released over iTunes and leaked onto YouTube, and the second which is a shortned version of the Director's Cut version for television channels. Rumor has it, that a third 30 minute version of the video will also be released. The video's dialogue was written by Alpha Dog's writer and director Nick Cassavetes and directed by Samuel Bayer. It stars Justin, Scarlett Johansson and Alpha Dog co-star Shawn Hatosy. The video begins with Justin hooking up with Scarlett, which leads to a very intense relationship between the two of them. Later, Hatosy (who is Justin's best friend in the video) falls for Scarlett which leads to finding them kissing. It all ends in a car chase between Justin and Scarlett (who eventually runs away after beign found kissing Shawn by Justin). Johansson's character eventually dies in a car crash while Timberlake sees it all. Very passionate, heavy and intense, this is Justin's longest and greatest video to date. The song is positively reviewed, and it is suggested to be superior to previous SexyBack and My Love. Enjoy!

Scissor Sisters - "She's My Man"

They didn't felt like dancing and then took us to a land of a thousand words... Now it's time for us to meet their man... who is actually a woman... She's My Man is the third single from their second album, Ta-Dah, and the video has just premiered. Like any other Scissor Sisters video, is pretty imaginative, and it uses the Kuroko technique, where the band members act out a scene round a dining table against a black background. Stagehands (dressed completely in black, and effectively invisible) move props, furniture and bits of costume to surreal effect. And it looks amazing! The song is also pretty catchy, and I consider it a follow up to 2006's hit single I Don't Feel Like Dancing (probably because Land of a Thosand Words was quite a flop)... Enjoy!

The Platinum Chart [Week 297]

Another week just passed by, which means time for a new chart. This week we're joined by new efforts by Keane and Beyoncé, and a very special song by British artist Amy Winehouse. Also, Madonna jumps out of the top 20 while Fall Out Boy race up the chart just like brand new artist Mika. Beyoncé is replaceable after all in the top 5 while Gwen Stefani winds it up and Eric Prydz keeps on educating everybody. On the Bubbling Under Chart Cascada touches the top spot for the third week in a row, JoJo says it's not too late to get back on the top and The Pussycat Dolls get a spot on the chart alongside U2 & Green Day and yet again, the Scissor Sisters... That's all folks! Enjoy!

Say Enough Is Enough

And this is another proof that Hilary Duff is now fully grown. Leaving the Disney/Bubble-Gum-Pop/Rock sound behind, Miss Duff gives us a Pop/Dance styled album. Dignity is set to release in April, but we already know two singles and a perfume. Play With Fire was the first single that never was a single (only the video was released), but we could see the new Hilary coming with it. She was even named the American Kylie Minogue for her new influences. Now with second single (or is it the official first single?) With Love she establishes her new sound. A bit similar to Lindsay's Rumors (must say), the track is great and perfect for the (American) clubs (across the European clubs a techno remix will work). The video for the track is exactly like the advertisement for her perfume of the same name, although longer. It's all a chase scene, Hilary has some disguises and manages to lead her follower to an elevator, the elevator eventually has a malfunction and it all leads to a To Be Continued ending. If the elevator will crash or if we see Hilary and her follower getting married in part 2 (like Mariah did!) we still don't know, but the fact is that this song rocks!

Put Your Back On Me

What can possibly put a Japanese Elvis, four bicycles, balloons, kimonos, a big cartoon costume and a big mustache together? It's the brand new video by The Killers! Set in Tokyo (i guess, it's very similar to Madonna's Jump... But without all the jumping...), the video features the band getting adventurous through the unknown city. They play with some children, ride some bicycles through the city, they just have fun! And above all, that's what makes it a good video... So much better than previous Bones, Read My Mind is set to put The Killers back where they belong : on the top of the charts! When You Were Young was a great track and the sales proved it, Bones wasn't that great but had a 5 star video to help, although it didn't help, so it's time for Read My Mind to save the day... As far as I'm concerned, it will...
