Deal Or No Deal

Before I start posting the new Indie posts, let's look back in Pop and say what's good and what's not on today's market, shall we?

- TIMBALAND Presents ONE REPUBLIC
"APOLOGIZE" : It's not that bad. Actually a lot better than previous Timbaland singles on the radio. Much thanks to OneRepublic's original version of the song. [4/5]

- MARK RONSON Featuring AMY WINEHOUSE
"VALERIE" : This is a very good Big Band version of The Zutons' "Valerie", and Miss Winehouse sounds great here too. [5/5]

- SUGABABES
"ABOUT YOU NOW" : If anyone asked for a good pure pop song, this is it. The Sugababes's new single teaches everyone else how to properly use synths. [5/5]

- BRITNEY SPEARS
"GIMME MORE" : I don't think I need to comment on this one. Miss Spears/Ex-Federline tries too hard to make a comeback. It's a bit unlistenable... Though the synths makes up for it. [1/5]

- AKON
"SORRY BLAME IT ON ME" : Now this is just horrible. [0/5]

- CRAIG DAVID
"HOT STUFF (LET'S DANCE)" : Remember "WALKING AWAY"? You can forget it. Craig David returns with a new song based around David Bowie's "LET'S DANCE". David kinda messes it up, but the sampling is nice... [3/5]

- PLAIN WHITE T'S
"HEY THERE DELILAH" : Nice calm pop / piano rock ballad. Super simple. [5/5]

And I could comment on a lot more tracks. But I don't feel like it. This makes the 'period' on the Pop posts. Pretty soon you'll be able to check who's things are on the Indie side of life...

[P.S.: The ratings of the songs have been made on a Pop basis. If I rated them on an Indie basis, the ratings would be quite low...]
