The 79th Academy Awards (aka the Oscars) were on last night as you know... Ellen DeGeneres made a hell of a show, beating the previous years' ceremonies as the best. The 4 hours long show was awesomely entertaining, making the Grammys look like crap. Highlights of the evening includes DeGeneres vacuum-cleaning the floor, taking pictures with Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg or handing Oscar winner Martin Scorsese a script of her own. Big winners include The Departed, Little Miss Sunshine, The Queen and Pan's Labyrinth, and Dreamgirls made the best song performance ever on the Academy Awards... For more, check out the winner list and the Dream's performance below...| Category | Winner | Film |

When I first heard this song I must confess I didn't quite liked it. Just like Christina Aguilera's Hurt I found it a bit too dramatic. And then I've downloaded it and started to listen to it a bit more, and it turns out that Listen, among with Hurt, is a powerful, catchy ballad. Apart from Beyoncé's fantastic vocal skills, the song comes with an out of rate instrumental and strong lyrics. Now, I'm not the only one to like it, after all, the song has been nominated for various awards like the International Press Academy Satellite Award, the Black Reel Awards, the Satellite Awards or most importantly the Golden Globe Awards and recently the Academy Awards, all in the Best Original Song - Motion Picture category for the Dreamgirls motion picture. To date it has won the Best Song, Original or Adapted- Motion Picture at the Black Reel Awards. It's a serious candidate for the Oscar, although it lost in the Golden Globes to Prince's Song of the Heart from the Happy Feet movie. There are two videos for the song, the first one directed by Diane Martel features Beyoncé performing on stage, and the second one directed by Matthew Rolston and especially produced for VH1 features the singer-songwriter performing the song against a black and white background. Listen was released on the United States in early December, and will be released in late February on the United Kingdom and across Europe. Enjoy!
It's been a while since I last posted a Da1000 Productions video (apart from the Start Me Up videos), and I've decided to post this one. I made it and uploaded it to YouTube on October, but never got to post it on the blog. And so it's time. I first heard this mash-up when I was looking for bootlegs and got to Smash's website. From the tracks I've downloaded from there, this one proved to be a favourite and when I started to make some videos, I decided that it deserved a good video. And so I did. Featuring Beyoncé's Crazy In Love video only, the mash-up contains a sample of Saliva's Click Click BOOM!, the instrumental of Groove Armada's classic I See You Baby, and obviously Beyoncé's singing skills, as well as Jay-Z rapping. A great tune, and a good video ;) Enjoy!

And the nominees list for the 2007 Grammy Awards just came out. I was really pleased with this year's nominees, though Nelly Furtado could have more than just one nomination ( Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals for Promiscuous with Timbaland, which they'll probably lose to Mary J. Blige's One with U2). And I was also really pleased and surprised for The Pussycat Dolls' nomination for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal for Stickwitu, they really deserve it. Other nominees include Justin Timberlake, Shakira, Madonna, Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Gnarls Barkley, Natasha Bedingfield, James Blunt, Corrine Bailey Rae and Mary J. Blige (with 8 nominations), among others...Record Of The Year

Now is time for a brand new Da1000 Production. Well, actually it's not that brand new... I've made this video some time ago, but never uploaded it... Now I just founded it over my PC, and got the feeling to show it to the world. It was after I made my other production Beyoncé vs. Groove Armada vs. Saliva - "Crazy Baby Boom!", which features Beyoncé's video, I took this Eurovision song and used the Crazy In Love video to make it's own video, but just for fun, never thought it turned out this funny! So don't you think I hate this ladies, much respect for Beyoncé and for Severina, but I just can't stop smiling when I see the R'n'B superstar shaking her behind to the sound of Croatian violins (or something like that), or when I see Hip Hop legend Jay-Z miming croatian traditional male chants. For anyone who's wondering "Moja Stikla" means My Stilletos or something like this in English, that's why the video has this ending. Be sure not to miss a thing, I present you Severina vs. Beyoncé - Crazy For Moja Stikla (so Beyoncé's crazy for her high heels... LoL...)Touched by Vülker Lüzer at 03:46 0 senses
